About
While studying for both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Fashion Communication at the London College of Fashion, I felt a deep longing for working with my hands rather than in digital forms. Having painted my entire life - thanks to having a wonderful artist as a Mother - I missed the tactility of paint and hands-on creating. This led me to develop my abstract practice, allowing me to fully immerse myself in the paint, to feel the textural elements on my fingers; it filled that missing void. I fell deeply in love with this style of working. It has informed both my life drawing and my studies of nature: abstracted figuration.
I have spent the last years honing my abstract creativity, developing a practice where I work closely with the paint itself, as if there are two artists: myself and the medium I am working with. I hope the viewer can sense this deep connection with the medium that I feel. This emotional connection with the paint allows me to use my practice as a therapeutic release. To make and to view art is a beautiful way to support emotional wellbeing, and I hope that my art brings viewers joy, a sense of peace, and happiness.
I have had the privilege of exhibiting my work at Tate Modern, London, in 2024, and won the Wylye Valley Young Artists Award in 2023.
